Stress, Part 2: Effects of Chronic Stress Inside the Body

In Part 1, we talked about signs and symptoms you may experience under chronic stress. In Part 2, we discuss taking a look at how that chronic stress effects our bodies.


Chronic stress can effect us head to toe. This includes our cognitive function, our heart and cardiovascular health, mental and emotional health (read depression and anxiety), exacerbation and triggering of chronic illnesses, and our sexual and reproductive health to name a few.


Knowing all of this, it becomes clear why learning to take care of our bodies and minds, to manage and mitigate stress, and to decipher when we need to separate ourselves from situations or relationships that promote chronic stress is imperative to our health.
